James Anderson remembers talking to Kuldeep Yadav before to the Test milestone, saying, “He had a feeling.”

Kuldeep Yadav, India’s top left-arm wrist-spinner, “had a feeling” that he would be the former’s 700th Test victim, according to James Anderson.
Anderson revealed the fascinating exchange he had with Kuldeep before defeating him on the last day of the Dharamsala Test during an interview with the BBC Tailenders podcast.

Anderson said, “Kuldeep edged one down to third man for a single.” “He exclaimed, ‘I’m going to be your 700th wicket,’ as I was making my way back to my mark as he reached the non-striker’s end. He was expressing a sentiment, not that he was attempting to escape. We both chuckled about it.

After a long wait, Anderson was able to finally get rid of Kuldeep and become the first bowler to reach 700 wickets in the red-ball format in sports history.

In the fifth and final Test matches at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium (HPCA) in Dharamsala, the 41-year-old England pacer only claimed two wickets. Shubman Gill, a centurion, was his second victim.

Anderson ended Gill’s 110-run knock after breaking through Gill’s defense.

James Anderson remembers their sledding match in the Dharamsala Test against Shubman Gill.

While both batters were moving in unison, Anderson made the decision to sled Gill in an attempt to get him to lose focus, and he was successful.

“I said something to him like, ‘Do you get any runs outside India?’ and he said, ‘It’s time to retire’,” Anderson said. “Then two balls later, I got him out.”
