In the fifth and final Test of the series, India easily defeated England at Dharamsala thanks to an outstanding performance by the veteran right-armer, who claimed four wickets in the first innings and then took 36 wickets in the second.

Ashwin’s significant achievement enabled him to surpass colleague Jasprit Bumrah and reclaim the top spot he had earlier in the year, according to an ICC statement.

After smashing a century in Dharamsala, Rohit moved up five spots to sixth position, within 108 rating points of Kane Williamson, the top-ranked Test batsman.

After an outstanding individual series against Ben Stokes’ team, Shubman Gill (up 11 ranks to equal 20th) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (up two spaces to eighth) set new career-best ratings.

After taking six wickets in the second Test against New Zealand in Christchurch, Bumrah and Australian seamer Josh Hazlewood shared second place.

Kuldeep Yadav, Ashwin’s partner, rose to 16th overall and achieved a new career-high rating after his impressive performance against England, which included seven wickets and Player of the Match honors.

Matt Henry of New Zealand advanced to a career-best position as well, moving up six positions to 12th.

India’s spinner Ravindra Jadeja maintained a significant lead over Ashwin in the revised Test all-round rankings, with two notable changes: Australia captain Pat Cummins moved up two slots to eighth place, and Henry moved up six spots to eleventh.
