Geeta Phogat and Babita Phogat were wrestlers, and Aamir Khan introduced them. The lives of Geeta and Babita Phogat are the basis for the movie Dangal.</p>
<p>The anecdotes that Aamir Khan heard from Geeta and Babita Phogat during the one-hour episode of “Satyamev Jayate” inspired him to write “Dangal,” a movie that made history in Bollywood in 2016.</p>
<p>In the film “Dangal,” Aamir Khan plays amateur wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, a pehlwani, who develops Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari into the first two world-class female wrestlers from India.</p>
<p>With a staggering lifetime earnings of Rs 2,024 crore, “Dangal” continues to be the highest-grossing Indian movie.
